About the pamphlets

Treasures of the Catholic Faith is a library of short pamphlets, each one folded from a single sheet of A4. They are meant to be read in a few minutes, kept, and passed on.

Six panels, one pattern

Every pamphlet in The Faith follows the same six panels, so a reader always knows where to look:

  1. The front cover, with a classical painting of the mystery.
  2. The Central Teaching: what the Church believes, explained plainly.
  3. What the Bible Says: the key passages of Scripture and what they mean.
  4. What the Church Teaches: the Catechism, the councils and the popes.
  5. Living the Faith: prayer, worship and daily life, with a Did you know? box.
  6. A Prayer and Invitation: a traditional prayer, something to do this week, and further reading.

Sources

Scripture is quoted from the Douay-Rheims Bible. Where its verse or psalm numbers differ from modern Bibles, the pamphlet says so. Church teaching is quoted from the Catechism of the Catholic Church and from council and papal documents, all available at vatican.va. Prayers written for a pamphlet, rather than taken from tradition, are marked as such.

Checked before publication

Each pamphlet is read and checked by a priest before it is printed or published here.

Printing and folding

  1. Download the PDF from the pamphlet's page.
  2. Print it on A4 paper, double-sided, at actual size (100%), choosing flip on short edge.
  3. Lay the sheet inside up. Fold the right-hand third in.
  4. Fold the left-hand third over it, so the cover is on top.

Cover art

The cover paintings are public-domain works of sacred art.

The cover credits will be listed here as the pamphlets are published.

Lettering

The pamphlets and this site are set in Cinzel, Cormorant Garamond and EB Garamond, all released under the SIL Open Font License.
